Learn to garden like an organic farmer!
Urban Agriculture Summer Workshop Series
Workshops are Saturdays from 10am to noon at Northside College Preparatory High School. Join us afterward for an optional farming work day with other UHC volunteers from 12:30 to 4pm.
Become a real backyard farmer by joining Urban Habitat Chicago for one or all of our step-by-step organic farming workshops. Experienced ecological designer and urban farmer Michael Repkin will guide you through some of the most critical topics in organic agriculture and give you the tools to effectively manage your own garden, or optimize your urban farm. For beginning gardeners and experienced farmers.
Workshop attendees are invited to practice their new skills afterward with UHC volunteers at our urban farm at Northside College Preparatory High School in Chicago.
Series price is $50, or $15 per workshop. Discounted price of $10 per workshop for UHC Members.

how to protect your garden organically against pests and optimize your watering technique and energy use.. While this topic is one of the most difficult in gardening, it is also the most critical. This lesson will guide you the process of creating an effective management plan.
AUG 6 Pick and Eat!
4. Harvest
Reap the benefits of your garden’s production now and in the months to come. This session will cover safe and savvy harvest and post‐harvest handling, including food sanitation.
